My XK8 only has 55k mile on odo. I replaced just the Upper Spring Mounting. Gained a good 1 1/2 " in ride height which now matches the rear wheel well gap. All other bushings and such are in fine shape. Old upper mount rubber material was disintegrating, age more of a problem than miles. The center shocks were a bit off center at top. The welsh upgraded mount has a hard almost plastic bushing ( black in color) with little give. While handling with flat running on tight curves, a little ride comfort suffers. I do need to mention this is the only XK8 I've driven. I cannot compare the std mount with its soft cushion with my new mounts. Rich

I also installed those top mount along with everything else. Top wishbone bushing real bad bottom wishbone 3 out of 4 original. Ball jount boots had failed due to age.

I noticed some roughness in ride on washboard road surfaces. I found jag specs saying min tire pressure for comfort was only 26lbs and max 32. I plan to play with a range between 26-32 to see if I can find sweet spot in ride without getting to soft and cause tire wear. Mine is riding 17 inch wheels so may have a little more tire than some of the larger wheels to play with pressures.

I can now see why the owners manual and the folks on this site speaks of different tire pressures for handling verse ride quality. Never mattered much for my XK8. I guess now the front end is in ship shape it does make a difference. I like the handling aspect. Mostly when I'm heading to a car show. The older go-go fast cannot corner rods heading to the shows cannot crank the off-ramps like the XK8. Fun to watch them back off.
