Default Right Fog Light and Hazard Light Inop - simple switch issue?

My project list is growing..... the right fog light switch will not light up (like the left) simple switch issue or is there a relay?

The hazard lights often won't turn off once they turn on (embarrassing!) If you catch the bottom right corner of the switch with your fingernail it will usually turn off - any experience with this guys? - just a switch?

I guess you guys can tell by now I'm the new guy who likes it when everything works!

Re hazard- I've had these switches "stick" for unknown reasons. Just cycling on off on several times cleared it.

I'm not sure I understand the fog lite issue. Wait maybe you were using dead reckoning left =front fog, right =rear. If that's so, I've had the exact same thing. Just work it on off like I said above. It will clear itself.

I thought of blowing air in there to help but concluded that it could just as easily further "seat" the debris in the wrong place.

Thanks John - I have a lot to learn about Jags. In my 45 years of driving I have never had a car with "rear" fog lights. It helps when you read the manual - also need to have the dipped beam lights on to make these switches operative. One step at a time......

You'll find these rear fogs are great for tailgaters. It's an easy way to get them to back off. Just flick them on off on off a few times. I think the WTF factor wakes them up, like you said - who has ever seen rear fog lights before.

Rear fog lights have been a legal requirement for all European cars for over 30 years. And still most UK drivers don't know the law regarding their use!!

Interesting information. I don't envy your MOT tests but once again you're ahead of us on the safety curve. I shouldn't be surprised when I think of how long it has taken us to require headlights on when raining for example.

Oh yeah, regarding those tailgaters- sometime when you're parked in front of a big window at night, just for the fun of it turn on your Hazzard lights and cycle the rear fogs. Now I'm not saying it looks an awful lot like the rear of an undercover police car who just lit up to pull someone over (wink wink nudge nudge). But if you get the timing right let's just say it ups that WTF factor by quite a few notches.

I believe the rule is that they must only be used on perfectly clear nights. At least, that's usually what happens...
