Rocker Moulding upgrade

I've been thinking about a rocker moulding to give my 03 a little more aggressive look, and cover up the "orange peel" chip guard. Most of the body kits are over the top in my opinion, and I want something more understated, so was thinking of adding the factory cover from the 05-06 years.
Is this something others have done? Does it look silly without also changing the front bumper cover to match?
How about installation? I never like to make new holes on the bottom of a car if it can be avoided, so has anyone installed it without the rivets, say with glue or something else?
Thanks

I thought about doing it for a long time. I was gonna have a sheet metal shop bend a 5' long piece like this

There is a race shop by my house that could cut a 5' x 2" carbon fiber sheet to surface the left edge. and you can mount it with trim tape on the upper right and lower top lips.
Endcaps are too tricky to draw but easy for a shop to cut and tack in place.
total cost would been about $400.
