Roof Latch Problem

Roof Latch Problem
I just finished swapping out my hydraulic hoses after the last green shower. I used the high pressure ones referenced elsewhere in the forum. I put it back together, now the roof won't latch. Just as the top approaches the latch, the latch partially closes. If I hold the latch open so it can engage the roof, the top goes down, but instead of latching I hear the pump working, then the latch starts to open again... If I manually lock it, the rear windows still won't come up. I am really frustrated, as I took three careful days to do the job, making sure I didn't have any left over parts or problems. Anybody else have this type problem or a suggestion?

My current understanding is a hose swap at the pump, but I am a newbie.
I am on day 3 of a front hose swap, and have proven Gus is a gracious man, I will get little time to work on this in the next 3 days, but it should be finished shortly there after.
PS I documented it all so far, so we should have a hose swap for dummies tutorial out of this. I am a dummy, and I would be glad to have this.

Thanks to all
I swapped the hoses as you all suggested and it solved the problem. Like you, Sam, I am 60 so this project probably took about 3 days longer than it should have, but with the information on the forum and Gus's site I was able to attempt and finally solve this problem. In the last three months with the help of ya'll I have fixed a busted tensioner/timing chain, now the roof hoses. Next up is the steering column that no longer extends, the two headreasts and finally the antenna that has to be tapped on the head to go down. Good thing I love this car... Off to the parkway to see the colors! Thanks guys! Phil

I wasn't being critical of the elderly, Gus. I just don't want to be told l look sixty when I'm only 45. LOL!
I remember when I was a teenager there was a show on TV called "Thirtysomething". It was about people in their thirties. I remember thinking "THIRTIES??? Who the hell wants to watch a show about old folks in their thirties?" Now that I'm 45, thirtysomething doesn't sound that old anymore!
Fortunately for men, we get better looking as we get older, and our taste in women expands to include women close to our own age. When I was 19 I was pretty much stuck dating women who were either 19 or 18. But using the "half your age plus seven" rule, women from 29 to 45 or so are all fair game! And when I'm sixty, women from 37 to 60 will be fair game! Of course... I'm married, so I'm not even supposed to be thinking about those things.
