Roof pump stopped due to low fluid.

Roof pump stopped due to low fluid.
The fluid level in the roof pump is low and the motor will not respond to the switch. The fuse is intact. Is this pump toast or is there another way to reset it or test it. It stopped while closing the top and the latch failed to operate correctly.
Just an aside, apparently the fluid level wasn't checked by Wednesday's "Peace of mind" "Know your vehicle" fitness inspection and treatment plan at the Jag dealer.
Thanks,Tom

Tom - glad you were able to manually get the top closed. While you may not have had the dreaded green shower - did you notice any fluid under the cd changer or in the base of the trunk? I had the unfortunate pleasure of the hose blowing out at the pump - just ordered replacement hoses for the 2 cylinders as the latch hoses had already been replaced prior to my purchase.
for anyone that needs hydraulic lines - 550 for all 6 with core or 350 for the 4 cylinder hoses w core

No I don't see any leakage. The hoses aren't bulging and there's no fluid at the connections. There is a small amount under the reservoir but it's old and gummy. I think it's from filling spillage. I cant help but wonder where the fluid went. I haven't found any in the roof light console.

the only other place there might be leakage would be at the cylinders themselves which requires pulling the rear side panels off along with several items behind the panel. Easiest thing to do - fill the pump reservoir up, test the top and see what happens - if the level drops, then probably a leak somewhere.
