roof upholstery is coming loose, how to fix?
Hi, the roof liner is sagging right over the drivers side hitting me in the head sometimes! How can I fix this without pulling it off or taking to a shop?
I was thinking either using a syringe with a type of glue or maybe they have some low visibility tacks?
Any ideas or suggestions?

The only proper fix is to replace and reglue the foam backed fabric in the coupe. See WLS Headliners - Automotive interior products for the basic procedure.
If you want to postpone doing it the right way, these upholstery twist pins can save the day: Dritz® Twist Pins*: home decor notions *: sewing & quilt*: *Shop | Joann.com or Amazon.com: Upholstery Decorative Twist Pins 30/pkg-clear: Arts, Crafts & Sewing .

It's a pretty common problem, especially in the southwest heat.
I had mine redone not too long ago and it was well worth the $350 I paid for the headliner and A-pillars, which were also saggy. Found a local place that did the job in about 5 hours and was able to match the visor material, which was still in good shape.

There is really only one way to fix this problem permanently and that is to fit a GRP roof liner. The problem is the composition of the board itself that disintegrates causing the foam/fabric to fall away, the actual material itself is not the best either. Trying to reglue does not work or is only a very temporary fix, either the foam or board gets heavier from the glue and pulls away somewhere else within itself.
Many Jaguars have this problem especially XJs and XJSs, I actually have a mould to make XJS liners....
The only place I know that makes the GRP type for the XK is Myrtle Productions, UK based I am afraid, they cost about $180 come precovered in either grey or sable, not a perfect match to the A pillars but they supply enough material to cover them if you wish FOC...
I have fitted a couple with no issue
