I have a 1997 jaguar xk8 and the convertible roof was down for a ride and when i got home to put it back up it went up almost completely but still has a gap and the small side windows that go up and down when the top is put up and down will not go up and now the top will not move at all and i was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this or what could be wrong

Hi.
I had a similar problem some years ago.
In my case the "cover" for the claw in the windshield header rail was following the claw up, thereby blocking the claw to catch the hook at the top.
The top hook ended up resting at the top of the claw.
After opening the petcock in the trunk, I managed to wrestle the claw back down with the manual allen key, and everything snapped in place.
Be careful with the claw so i doesn't catch your finger.
