Dont confuse the jet pump on the drivers side with the actual fuel pump to feed the engine on the passenger side. The jet pump keeps fuel level on saddle tanks and is not electical. Only the sender, and the jet pump works off fp pressure to keep both sides of the saddle tanks even

Sorry, I'm confused again. I was thinking that we were talking XKRs exclusively. Is this discussion broader to include say S-Types?

Sorry but I'm not sure who to contradict! I know Brutal knows...so I will address JagV8....My 2000 XKR had (2) Fuel Pumps...(both in Tank)….It also had a returnable flow fuel system and was a 4.0 Liter S/C Engine....When Jaguar came out with the 4.2 Liter Engine in 2003, they changed the Fuel flow system to a direct non-returnable system, which they continued to use through the X-100 series....That system has only (1) much larger Fuel Pump in the Tank.....The last one I bought cost somewhere over $600.00 for my 2005 XKR.....Fortunately, I didn't have to buy one for my 2003 XKR.....but I'm sure it looked just like the one they took out of my 2005 XKR. Please don't ask me about the 1998 XK Coupe....but if you do, I would say, I really don't know, as it was not S/C'ed….

"That's all I have to say about that!"

Someone said all years with 4.2(ithink )
but the cars with saddle tanks over the diff not in the trunk are single pump.
I gave up trying to memorize eveything on all models, engines and variations. I have to go from the 90's to 2019 on everything. When i really need to know i look it up or look at it
