Default Scratch

My trunk suffered a scratch and I was wondering what options I have. Retouch, respray, remove the trunk lid and send it off somewhere to be painted? Any advice would be appreciated

scratch is about 6" long

Ouch! It looks deep in the photos. Take it to a pro body shop and they them give you the options. No need to remove it, hassle to put back on and adjust.

Default Body Shop time

I have to agree with the previous response that it is time to go to a pro painter. It appears the scratch is past the clear coat and top coat and down to the primer, a real deep scratch. Another issue is metallic paint is very difficult to match on a touch up basis. Don't be surprised if the shop say's you need to repaint the entire panel.

Drop by to see Tim at Fleming Auto Services off of Glebe Rd. in Arlington, which sublets some space inside the American Service Center Mercedes of Arlington dealership service area. Here is the web page: https://flemingautomotiveservices.wordpress.com/about/

He does touch-up work for the Mercedes dealer, but takes in outside work as well. He is reasonable and does very nice work.

Looks like the scratch is more or less in the center, have you thought about a wide full lenth body stripe as there are some nice ones out there, may be a cheaper option but for myself I would go for a professional spray job
