Default Screws for Convertible Top Striker Plate

Hi -- First time poster -- I have a 2001 XK8 -- While opening the convertible top the striker plate came off on the latching mechanism on top of windshield. The mounting screws were missing. That's what I'm looking for -- the size and thread pitch of them. Local Jag dealership didn't list them. Anyone happen to know the sizes?

The part number for the striker plate is HJA8210BC.

Found the screws. M6-1.0x25mm Black stainless steel allen wrench. Went to Hillco Fastener Warehouse in Garden Grove California -- Excellent -- nailed the correct size just by looking. $1.00 USD each.

The bigger question to me is "what happened to the old ones"... not sure how it would close the top and not have the screws??

Great question -- I wish I knew. The top hadn't been lowered in 3 or 4 years. When starting the car last week, I noticed a gap between the top and windshield and pressed the open button. That's when I discovered the striker plate hanging off the latch. I think I must have accidentally momentarily pressed the button the last time I drove the car, causing the gap. Could the screws vibrated loose? Wouldn't they drop out when I opened the top? I didn't see sign of them.
