Default Seat Restore

In spite of my best efforts to screw this process up, (uh....starting with the low gloss sealer vs. the underlying coat....don't ask), I must say the stuff is truly amazing.

I also ignored the instructions where they said do it in shade or in moderate temps, (full sun, 87 degrees outside probably 400 inside the car based on my sweating).

The trick is the tapping. I slobbered the stuff probably too heavily then smeared it over a larger area to thin the coat....then basically used the application brush to give the entire wet area a tap. I was shocked how good it has turned out so far.

Here is before, after the prerequisite cleaning, which I did do.

And after the first of two coats, (second one tonight).

Color match is spot on. I did not do the emergency brake cladding...see for comparison!

The lighting is different due to the angle of the sun and the large blanket I put over the windshield to keep the direct sun off it while it dried.

Stitching is a bit clogged but I'll attend to that tonight....uh, read the instructions, THIN COATS!!!!

What is really amazing is the applicator: I did not expect it to last more than five minutes. Works great, I'm sure it will be fine for the second coat as well.

BTW, really great personalized service from vendor. I initially ordered wrong color but called back next day to correct and they accommodated.

Can't say enoguh about the product or company.

Can't wait until the second coat and topper go on!!

He's very responsive via ebay. Not sure if they have a normal website.

Just give them your interior code and viola. Not sure who but a fellow member here did a really great write up on it. I followed his lead and nought the low gloss topping for the final touch

Look here for my DIY using this same product a few years ago. The results were outstanding.

Thanks for the EBay link, I ordered the Jaguar colour match package.

Really looking forward to treating my XK8 seat cracks.

I really appreciate your taking time to post your recommendation, and product link. I wouldn’t find out stuff like this if it weren’t for the generosity of members like you. Can’t wait to try this stuff!

I sold that one so I can't say for sure.

For the couple years after I did it, the work still looked like the day I did it. Here's a pic from just before I sold it.

I think preparation is key. Take the time needed to ensure the surface is *really* clean.

second coat. I did not touch seat belt or hand brake. Color match is spot on.

I'm still not happy about the stitching, but it is a water soluble product so I may take a shot at removing those areas and redoing.
