Shocks and Mounts
Bilstein, I had those put on the front of my 99 XK8 and am very happy w/ them. But when I got a good look at the front it was obvious I needed the Upper Shock Mounts...$183 each Partsgeek.com, after replacing them with the shocks the front of my car was back up 1-2 inches where it was suspose to be and with the other parts below, Drives like new.
I then ordered all the front end parts from www.britishparts.co.uk, I ordered from them and saved a ton of money even with the Shipping from England. They sell a Kit called the "XK8 supension Kit" ..ball joints bushings etc Dosent include the upper shock mounts.
Hopefully you just need shocks.

Just bought a '98 w/ 76k miles. I notice the front of the car seems lower compared to the rear, and will scrape the front when hitting a bump too quickly. I already ordered new set of Bilsteins, so what I hear you saying is that the shock mounts are probably bad too?

I've read quite a bit on this forum regarding the shock mounts and almost every instance seems to result in the ride height of the car coming back up to where it should be. I have an 03 XKR and as my front end sits around 14.25" (almost 1.5" lower than spec) replacing the shock mounts and lower shock bushings is the route that I'm going. I've ordered all the parts from various locations and in a couple weeks I should getting this work done..........so we'll see if this brings the car back up or whether I need to dump a fortune into springs for it.
I never really got a definitive answer on how to determine if mine were bad or not so when I receive the new ones I'm going to do a detailed comparison. If just replacing these components raises the car 1"-2" then one would surmise that the new shock mount thickness should be substantially thicker than the ones you remove, so we'll see.
There's only a couple of things that can feasibly have this affect on the height of a vehicle. The springs and whatever may be inbetween them and the hardpoint connection points.
