Default Shock/spring question

Hi all,
Since I had to replace my upper bushings, I decided I might as well replace the (non-electric) shocks while I'm at it. With 120,000 miles on them, I figured it was a worthwhile and not-too-painful investment. Not surprisingly, the shock bellows and bumps stop are toast, as are the plastic cushions for the spring seats. So far, I have not found a source for these items. Hoping I might get some suggestions. As an aside, I am curious if I can fashion my own spring seat pad, maybe a sandwich made of the stiff plastic used in pails and jugs. All thoughts appreciated.
Thanks!

In December 2015 I ordered the front bellows and bump stops for my wife's 2006 XK8 from partsgeek.com. My invoice shows a part number of SB101. They were made by KYB. The total cost was $40.71....

Looking for (what I now know is called) the spring isolator and came across this part: https://www.oemvehicleparts.com/oem-...seat-mja2162aa
At $3, it seems too cheap.
Then I found this: https://parts.harperjaguar.com/oem-p...lator-c2z15891
Also found some more "elaborate" and expensive versions. Could a $3 part fill the bill?

I do not think they are what you are looking for.

Advanced Auto Parts - MOOG PN: K90460 is equivalent to Jag PN: MJA2150BA for the front spring assistors (bump stops)

As for fashioning something for the spring seat pad - don't see why one couldn't

What shock mount are you going to use?

If you look at recent posts about " Welsh" you will find extensive photos etc of the parts which can be made from sheet polypropylene using a router or a lathe. In your parts list its the $34 item you need in the bottom row

Going with URO, which may not be the world's best mount, but I'm trying to keep costs down.

Couldn't find the list. However, I just learned I was using some incorrect terminology. The term "isolator" seems to relate more to the mount. What I am trying to find is the white plastic tabbed collar that I assume the spring rests on. Mine was crumbled. I don't know what it is called.
There are also two rubber(?) pads under the spring that are known as "packing". I've ordered new packing, but can't located the white tabbed ring. (So far I've only removed the left shock/spring.

Are you aware that you will be fortunate indeed to get six months out of the URO shock mounts before they fall apart?

I've read mixed experiences and, yes, many were bad. I'm not driving the car that much of late so it should be good for a couple of years. I hope.

Also, I bought these a couple of years ago - before I heard their performance could be questionable. A bit too late for refund.

I have just ordered a sheet of 1/2in (12.5mm) thick poly and intend to cut a ring from it and put it between the top of the shock mount and the body 160mm dia 90mm hole in centre . there is 14mm of clear thread on the three bolts. My central bushing is fine but the ride height is at 14.5 in so I have lost a good inch in 112k.Keep costs down.. the poly was $8 enough for two

Am waiting for the material to arrive then I will cut it on the lathe with a parting tool.
May not fit for some time as the weather is cold but will send pictures and measurements.

I was also unable to find new versions of the white spring seat that you are searching for. They seem to be quite brittle but their design means they are well retained even when cracked. I viewed a few second hand items but the cracks are very common. My seats were cracked in half and in the end I resorted to gluing them to the plastic spacer beneath. They are still OK after a few years - see pic

PKWise, mine were cracked and I also glued them (JB Plastic Weld). Worked great especially since this part is no longer available.

I got new white plastic spring seats with new shocks. Last time I bought shocks? 15 months ago.

Hey regarding making a homemade version- don't forget the white plastic doo-dad has a built-in tab to position the spring and therefore the upper shock mount on top of it!
