Side mirrors not working!

Side mirrors not working!
Hello, my side view mirrors won't respond to the switch anymore. Every time I flick the switch now, the mirrors always retract all the way into the housing and refuse to be electrically adjusted.
After I have manually moved the mirrors to the desired positions, if I flick the switch again, they will again retract into the housing.
Am I looking at replacing the entire mirror housing assembly or is there a cheaper fix?
I noticed this issue after I took the car to a hand car wash place. I suspect the worker manhandled the mirrors instead of using the switch. Grrr.
Thanks.

Wolfy,
If memory serves, the JTIS has a section on side mirror adjustment. The mirror housings are designed to move either direction if they are struck by or strike an object. If I'm remembering it right, moving only the mirrors can cause the problem you mention. There is a procedure in the JTIS for adjusting mirrors that have been inadvertently or improperly moved.
Links for downloading the JTIS are in the Sticky threads at the top of the forum. (Read the associated thread before downloading and installing. I had the best luck downloading and installing the Zipped versions of the JTIS files. Your mileage may vary. BTW you have to be running Windows XP for the JTIS to work.)
I'm not at my computer that has the JTIS loaded, so later I will try to find the correct pages and post them for you. Unless another forum member beats me to the punch.
