Among the many things we dont like about the armrest/storage thingy, is the way it wobbles side to side and creaks.
Looking at it, I saw the the center of the lid sticks out and fends off against two plastic bumps on the lower piece.
I figured a lot of lateral movement could be removed by adding a pair of rubber bumpers either side that neatly sandwich the lower notches. You can even eyeball the clearance when looking at it This also has the unintended effect of slightly elevating/damping the lid against its latch when its clicked down, but to be honest even when it doesnt click locked its more stable. Now, the adhesive will perish and these will fall off, so my next step is to secure them with screws. Haven't done that yet.
Anyway, so far the console has barely creaked or squeaked when driving since doing this, because it can no longer wobble side to side, and took 30 seconds to do.
