hello i am new to this site and a new owner of a 2000 XK8.
I have 2 questions.
1- I would like to know reliable sources for parts.
2- I have a very profuse smell of fuel after spirited acceleration at highway speed and the smell last more time then i think is acceptable. [example cruising at 65.mph and accelerating to 80 mph] at normal driving no odor of fuel
thank you for any assistance

I'll bet you have a leaking fuel rail (I had a similar problem) but it could also be (I'll hope for you) a leaking fuel line. Fortunately on an XK8 the Fuel Rail isn't the pain in the butt it is on the XKR. There are also issues with the fuel pump and fuel filter on the car but those sit behind you and you likely wouldn't smell them as much when driving. Good luck (and leaking fuel = engine fire so I'd get this sorted quickly).

If it's a raw fuel smell, then Rob hit the likely sources. Here's a thread on the leaky fuel rail:

If it's a more exhaust like smell, I actually have something similar after a hard pull, but ONLY if the a/c is on recirculate. I think it might be something with pressure differences inside to out pulling some exhaust in through the bumper vents.
Good luck!

Definitely check the fuel rail for leakage as suggested, but on a 2000 4.0 the problem is more likely to be with the Evaporatiive Vapor recovery system.
The first steps toward finding the problem are are to:
1. Do a visual inspection under the car of the plastic and rubber piping in and out of the two black rectangular charcoal canisters between the rear wheels.
2. Check for OBDII fault codes
