Default Snap Tab (not sure what to call it) on vert boot cover gone bad

One of the two snap tabs that hold down the boot cover has gone bad. It does not stay put. It releases as soon as moving air from driving hits it.

Where can you get one? Also, it looks like you need a tool to remove it from the boot cover. Any ideas regarding what to use for that?

I believe the round post on the car is good and does not need to be replaced.

Thank you!!

Jack

I had a similar problem. I bought the snaps from eagleday.com. They are Tenax fasteners Used a salad fork to remove the snaps.

I got mine by visiting sites / stores that sell motorboat equipment. Plenty of the covers use the exact same items.

Even at shops selling parts for (british) oldtimers - my '58 TR3 got the same Tenax fasteners at the front of the hood (minus the small ring).

You might try (US) TR2, TR3 Glove Box Companion: page 330) (zeni.net) at The Roadster Factory
or Search results for: 'tenax fastener' (moss-europe.co.uk) at Moss
both showing a little tool to fasten them.

Cheers, Johannes

Default Problem Solved!!

I purchased this Jag part via Ebay. Problem solved.

Be careful. I learned that not all Tenax fasteners fit all other Tenax fasteners. If you need a new one, get this one. You can only get them in black now instead of silver. Big deal. Easy fix.
