Solved a problem...
It seemed that everytime I would go for a ride I would get the CEL with the P0171 and P0174 codes and the occasional restricted performance (so much so that I started carrying my OBD tester in the glove box). Well finally this morning I went out to look for air leaks and lo and behold I found the bottom of my air intake was all dried out and cracking - even though the top of it still looked brand new:
I hopped online and ordered a new air intake from Alpine Jag for $75 and should get it on Wednesday or so... in the meantime, I took some black Gorilla duct tape (high heat supposedly) and wrapped the whole bellows section to see if it solved my problem. I went out for a couple of rides and NO MORE CODES (so far)!
I AM confident that this was my issue and now my baby is running as smooth as ever

My only advice for this repair is to pay triple attention to the angle this pipe sits in on the throttle body. Basically, before you secure the clamp, make sure the entire pipe sits low enough and at the right angle so the bellows don't rub on the hood liner. As you know, the hood id solid with the car, but this pipe is solid with the engine. If the bellows sit too high, the relative motion between the two can ruin this new pipe and get you right back to where it started, this time with the holes on top. Thanks for sharing.
Best of luck, keep us posted.
