Default Source for engine cover hardware

So, I had the engine cover of my 2005 Convertible off for a while. When I went to reinstall it, I could not find the brackets that attach to the engine to hold the cover in place. I'm pretty sure I have them someplace - probably in the bowels of my disorganized basement. Question: Does anyone know of a source for the brackets, apart from a breaker? Otherwise I guess I could fabricate come substitutes, but would prefer originals. Thanks!

If you know you have them somewhere, I would just keep looking for them. Have you checked the car's trunk?

I wish they were in the trunk, but nope. It wouldn't be the first tool I lost, bought new, then found. My daughter recently moved back home and brought eight tons of crap that only adds to the disorganization.

You can Google-- Ford 20518 retainer clip and get several sources. I had to use these since they were NLA. Buy a bag since you will loose a few over time.

Thanks, but what I need are the brackets that attach to the engine, not the fasteners.

I say ditch the cover and expose a really beautiful engine!
