Spark plugs
I know this question will start a real ball of opinion.
I have been using the E-3 plugs in my other cars , BMW 7 & 3 series & Corvette.
I found they do just what the company claims they will do. Better idle, performance & gas mileage. (1-3 more miles, paper calculated)
What are your favorite plugs?
I admit they are more money than other plugs.

Yes you are correct in that the spark is the key.
There have been studies in the past by drag racers who found that if they had the open end of the contact facing the intake valve, it would burn hotter & better causing an increase in HP. They went to a lot of trouble to get the plugs set up with spacers etc to assure they aligned as needed.
To this end, if you can get a wider more open spark, it will burn the fuel more completely giving a more powerful power stroke= HP.
I have tried several syle plugs and I admit, most are a waste of time, just the same tune sung by a different singer. The E-3 has improved gas mileage in my BMW 4.4v8 and the car idles so smooth now you can't hear or feel a thing.
Before the plug change, I could feel the idle vibration in the steering wheel.
As I said before, plugs bring out the passion in owners and I am just interested in what this community thinks about the subject.
Not making any statements or suggesting they are the best etc etc. just putting my results after trying them out there.

A bigger or wide open spark does not cause the fuel to burn more completely. The spark ignites the very few molecules of air and fuel that are in the vicinity of the spark. Spreading of the flame front after that (conflagration) would make no difference if it was a flint and stone that lit the fire or an ultra zoomy bazzillion volt spark plug.
Does your BBQ grill burn hotter depending on what you lit the fuel with?

I can't afford to spend 8 x $?? and it not work, and you're the first I've heard of considering using those brand of plugs in a jaguar. I learned once from personal experience that it isn't always better to use a different plug than the OEM recommends (jeep grand cherokee) so when I changed my plugs this time on the xk8, I went with the iridiums, NGK I think, I didn't want to fiddle with a verifiably temperamental combustion system this thing has.
