Squared off with a 2013 Audi S5 3.0T Coupe
It was fast, empty highway etc.
We started playing around at about 60 mph......
He never pulled one me and the only way I pulled on him was the faster we got, 60 to about 90 dead even, 90+ it was ever so close but I pulled him by inches. Barely noticable, We stopped at a gas station and looked at each others cars. That Audi is a sexy beast.
really thought I was gonna kick its butt. No sir that didnt happen.
I am wearing my flame resistant panties so fire off
PERFORMANCE (C/D EST)
Zero to 60 mph: 4.7–4.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.2–13.3 sec
Top speed (governor limited): 155 mph

No surprise, they look pretty evenly matched though it looks like the Audi should be a bit quicker in the 0-60, it looks like the Jag comes into its own later on, as the quarter mile times are fairly close.

Audi makes some real sleepers.
I drove a factory A4 (their smallest sedan, usually powered with a dinky ~2.0 Liter 4 cylinder) with a ~5 Liter V8 and 6 speed manual. You had to look hard to see the carbon fiber bits but the monster Brembo brakes were a give away to those who know.
The car was one of a few thousand made in order for Audi to qualify the model for racing. How it came to sit on a lonely dealer lot was sort of a mystery to me.
Check out the Audi forum, though, and you'll see they chase the same general issues that we do, typically on much newer cars...

The 4 door S4's are beasts. I was royally smoked by one, but he got the head start... I didn't realize it was on until after he took off. So there was no real way for me to catch up.
On the highway yesterday, one of those fancy new boxster S models starts tailing me hard. An opening in traffic appeared, he took it as I did so I slammed the throttle to the floor, he tried to catch up, but I smoked him and then got the road chess win and was at least a mile ahead of him in about 15 seconds...
I wish it were more open. I'm pretty sure I would toast that or one of those little BMW's from 75-125...
I don't think many cars can beat an XKR in the 75-150 range. I'm sure many could match it, but the XKR is a beast when you're already moving 50-60mph.

The last Audi TT that came along didn't even try hard.
He was one of those impatient types second in line in a left turn lane onto a fast boulevard in front of a hospital.
Apparently, waiting for oncoming traffic exiting the hospital parking lot was not in his rule book. Waiting for traffic to go through before the left turn resulted in a loud "C'mon already!" being heard through the tilted sunroof.
Well ... as soon as he was able to make his left turn, he drifted to the right to pass on the outside. No doubt to demonstrate his displeasure and his manliness.
As he got his window next to the back bumper he heard a "whump" from the exhaust of the XJR as it got goosed.
... he dropped back and didn't challenge for the next 10 miles

Then there is the in town version - scraping.
Eventually, some smart cookie in his self important hurry decides that he knows how to pass on the right next to parked cars. Except, most of them hog two lanes because they don't really know how to judge clearances.
So ... you lead one of these "drivers" down the merry path until he jams up behind a parked car and hasn't got enough room to swing back into the main lane. He just got scraped out of your life.

I love those S4 v8's but like most european v8's they had no low end tq like my SRT8
Now I wonder how my XKR would fair against the s4V8?
