Do you have Brembos? The Mintex pads are well known for squeaking a lot, most people opt for the Ferrordo DS2500, another reason could also be if you have Brembos with cross drilled discs, check the holes of the discs if they are blocked this can cause squeals and brake fade
If you have standard brakes you could always fit EBC with redstuff pads

Toofast:
You didn't say how many miles you had on this set of brakes. My original OEM XK8 brakes lasted 59K miles, and there was enough metal to turn the rotors once.
Brake pad manufacturers design their pads to begin squeaking toward end of their life--as a warning to change them before they gouge the rotors.
I changed my Lexus brake pads as soon as I heard the first squeak, but all 4 rotors already had deep grooves. The new Hawk pads are ceramic, and much cleaner than the original semi-metallac pads.
I understand some of the Brembo equipped XKR pads and rotors are grossly expensive. It'd probably be advisable to keep an especially close watch on XKR brake pads, and replace them at set intervals--long before the pads wear down enough to dig into the rotors.

I just ordered these Ceramic Brake Pads (front) for my 2002 XKR.
PART #CD394A FRNT CERAMIC BRAKE PADS LIFETIME WARRANTY - eBay (item 230574108092 end time May-14-11 14:51:40 PDT)
They are made by Kang Rich International. I ordered a set of their Ceramic Pads for my 2006 VW Touareg. They are being installed next week. They appear to be well made and are quite heavy.
KRIC - Home
As I have not tested these yet, I can not tell you if they are any good. I bought them for my Touareg because the factory pads were worn and the dust problem is terrible. Since these are Ceramic, they should have less dust and perform better. We will see.
If they are terrible, at least they were cheap. ;-)
The pads for the Jag will be here early next week, so I will get them on asap and post my verdict here. I will be installing these myself. I was gonna do the VW myself, but they are more difficult and I don't have a torque wrench that will do 199 Ft/Lbs. So off to my mechanic friend. $100 for installation is well worth it. Pads and Rotors. Good to have friends.
By the way, the VW Touareg has the biggest brake pads I have ever seen. They make the performance pads on my Corvette look small. I will take a pic of them next to the XKR (non-Brembo) pads when they get here.

To each his/her own! I will not turn rotors, only new premium discs and use only ceramic pads. I will only replace brakes in full sets of all 4 wheels. Maybe I am too **** retentive, but when it comes to brakes, I will not just get by for replacements. Brakes are the most important system on a car and safety is the most important to me. It feels good to go fast, but feels even better to be able to stop!
