In the recent past I've removed and re-covered the headliner and A-pillar trims in my LHD 2003 XK8 Coupé VIN 36334. For this I removed the right seat, disconnecting the battery before disconnecting the wiring from the seat, and from the occupant sensors in the roof light unit and in the right A-pillar.

After reassembly, the SRS light stays illuminated with flash code 16 = Passenger Seat Weight Pressure Sensor. The light above the glove box is not lit.

I removed the seat again and inspected the wiring physically and electrically, including that from the Occupancy Sensor Module on the right A-pillar to the Passenger Seat Weight Sensing Control Module, and to the Passenger Seat Weight Sensor, and have found no problem. On reinstallation of the seat, the problem remains.

Can any of you suggest a test I might have omitted?

As I mentioned, in the course of the headliner removal I had the ultrasonic sensors in the right A-pillar and those incorporated in the interior lighting unit out on the bench. I assume a failure in one of those would not cause a code 16.

I am at the point of condemning the Weight Pressure Sensor, but reading here: http://jagrepair.com/images/TSB/TSB2...sh%20Codes.pdf mentions "OCS Service Kit" for code 16.

If I indeed need to find a replacement for this Weight Pressure Sensor, is it common with any other Jaguar, Ford, or other model? Must I find a seat cushion complete with Occupancy Classification System (OCS) module, passenger seat weight sensor or passenger seat weight sensor harness as stated in the bulletin? Due to uneven terminology, I'm not sure whether the OCS module mentioned in the bulletin is the Occupancy Sensor Module (on the A-pillar) mentioned in the repair manual, or the Weight Sensing Module (under the rear of the seat cushion) also mentioned in the repair manual.

Lastly, any suggestions where I could find the parts I need?

The car is now of limited use, as it won't pass our local state inspection with the SRS system out of service.

As a diversion, I'm amusing myself replacing the radiator, which is indeed possible without removing the air conditioning condenser.
