Starter Motor Questions
Having read Bright knights write up on removing the starter motor, I though right, this sounds easier than pulling the steering rack. I procced to jack up the car in the garage remove the RHS wheel and wheel arch liner.
On inspection I could not even see the starter motor never mind remove it. I had not removed the alternator snorkel at this point.
I have booked a day at a place that rents out vehicle lifts to allow me better access, plus I can do a few other jobs that are easier with the car up in the air.
This left me with a few questions:

This left me with a few questions:
- Once the snorkel is removed will removing the oil filter give me more access? If so, how much oil would I lose?
- Can the convertible front cross bar brace be removed without any unforeseen problems if needed?
- I noticed the starter motor relay is Yellow, I assume this must have been replaced in the past as I thought Jag only used Brown and Black relays since the late 90s?
Thanks,
Karl
