Steering column play....Steering column U-Joint?
When I bought the car, there was some vertical and horizontal play in the upper steering column. It didn't matter whether the telescopic wheel was in or out, or up or down.
It has no effect on the handling of the car, and can only be seen if I either go over a series of bumps, or someone intentionally moves the wheel.
I had a conversation with a mechanic yesterday, he didn't know this car specifically, buy said I should look at the steering column U-Joint.
I intend to bring the car to someone , but I'm not sure who I'd trust with this just yet.
I'd like to hear some ideas before putting my car in anyone else' hands.
Your thoughts and suggestions are welcomed.

I have a simalar issue that while small drives me crazy...
Mine has a small amount of movement in one direction only, kind of NW direction, only if the wheel is NOT full up or full down. I took the covers off and investigated and the pivot pin on the casing where the signal and wiper stalks are located looks like it is worn out. When the wheel is all the way down or up it rests on a stop and will not "wiggle". I can't see how to fix this other tha a new complete column!
I also get a small amount of wobble when hit a bump, when I fist got the car the Ball Joints were bad, after replacing the Ball Joint the "bump" wobble greatly inproved but has never gone away completely.
