Default Steering wheel column trim removal help

Without getting too deep, I’m chasing down an airbag light in my 97 xk8, code b1932.(more on that later)

I need advice on how to remove steering column trim pieces. I took the two bolts out from underneath and lower part came right off. Upper piece seems to be in there pretty good, as gentle prying and prodding could not free it.
I have the column all the way out(toward drivers seat) and all the way down (toward floor) are there also screws that secure it? I’m working in the dark with four flashlights kneeling on cardboard on a gravel driveway, with on and off light spurts of rain, aka the perfect conditions to make mistakes and rush and break something I don’t want to. If anyone knows let me know, cus I feel like I’ve tracked down the source of the issue, but need this column trim/cover off to perform the tests I wanna do and confirm this issue, but don’t wanna break it. I’ve already broke about 9 different plastic wiring clips trying to unplug different electrical connectors and don’t wanna break this trim piece and have it rattling around forever. Thanks In advance, -Steve

Well, I figured it out, there’s three screws that hold the top part of the column trim on. With the three screws out and top piece removed I solved my airbag light being on at all times; first a little background

i scoured this forum and others for clues. Did everything I read and it didn’t work. Got a used srs module off eBay and no luck. Cleaned all connectors under both seats no luck.
then I got the code scanned at a friends auto body shop, code b1932. He was convinced that it was the clock spring, after dealing with the same code recently on a Nissan something or other.
then I scoured the internet, no jag specific info related to my issue. Then I did a generic internet search for just the code and found a thousand things that were all ford related. Read a few things and found in fords that this code is usually the plug that goes into the clockspring needs due-electrical grease and good to go.
so I study the xk8 electrical guide, and then dive into the steering column and lo and behold, one connector plugged into the backside of the clockspring is very loose, and moves in and out easily(although does not disconnect)
so I got it pushed all the way in, and stacked up some squares of thin adhesive foam and tucked it behind the connector to hold it tight. (The foam was leftover I had from mounting a truck bed cap to truck bed)
put it all back together and started it up…bulb check and no light. Went for a ride no airbag light, moved the column around no light. DAMN what a relief! If anyone ever encounters this please pm me and I’ll guide you to solving it. To all those who gave suggestions thanks so much! On to the next little issue… to be continued
