Default Sticking seatbelt recoil

I don't seem to find this problem in the archives, so here is he question: 2005 XK8 conv. passenger side seat belt is very reluctant to recoil. It can be got back in by 5 minutes of teasing, but not practical. The driver's side isn't a ball of fire, but does the job. Is anything known about this problem? Thanks.

This came up last month. Someone posted that if you fully extend, fully recoil it a few times it can clear the issue.

All from memory or I'd cite the author. Maybe someone else can validate my memory/instruction

Default Seat belt retraction

Thanks for the directions. As a newby, I don't understand what I was doing wrong that I couldn't find the previous posts; I did give it my best shot. The interesting thing is that it is the PS belt that is getting lazy, so it probably isn't the spring. The twisted belt notion seems plausible. I'll post accordingly when I have a solution. Thanks also for no 'crushing' me for failing to find the previous post

The Search function is a little tricky. I think it searches Google first. I find that the fewer words you use the more, and better results you get. If you put the model year and model of your ride in your signature, you get a lot less grief.
Welcome.

I have found the site: option in google searches to work GREAT. This way, you can do a search that is focused on just the part of this site that relates to our cars: In Google, for a given set of SearchTerm#, type:

Code:
SearchTerm1 SearchTerm2 site:www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/
