Billy,

Me again. Since we seem to have a lot of spare time these days, I went out for a quick look - see. The problem is that the ccfulton solution is so elegant and anything else is more of a Rube Goldberg. I took an old 6 ohm resistor to see if I could cram it in there and still fit the cover. And, yes, I could. See picture.
I guess it is possible to hold the resistor in place with silicone or some epoxy. However, I don't know how hot the resistor will get and we sure don't want to damage/melt the plastic cover. Then you will need to drill a couple of holes thru the lamp holder assembly and solder the two wires in place of all your current resistors. Not necessarily a slick and clean installation.
You can always keep adding resistors and hope that you will reach a point where it does not trigger. Who knows where it is. problem is that it will take about 70 resistors to get all the way down to the 6 ohms

Nalle,

Somewhere along the way I have come up with (4) 50 Watt Resistors and (4) 25 Watt ones.....They came from "CarID". I guess I ordered them several years ago...

I am going to beat this Dog someway and soon and will let you know....But until then I'm going to leave you alone as you have been to kind with your help....I should be able to do this now that I have had your help!
Thanks very much!

Great Billy! Go for it!
I was also doing a little research on different surface mount resistors. We could get 249 ohm 1 Watt resistors which, with your 18 resistors, would bring the total down from the 26 ohm you now have to about half of that - 13 ohms. Still don't know if that's enough though. I just got a fault signal today, sitting with the foot on the brake for about 5 min's. Some day in the future I might get some 250 ohm resistors and try. Only concern is that they might run too hot .

Billy,

I just ordered a pile of 274 ohm 1 watt surface mount resisistors. You may want to wait with the "big ones" until we see how this turns out.

Nalle,

My latest Email from Digi-Key shows that they have a calculating table to figure Resistors and such....This could be something you could use....Go to: www.digi-key.com
They have several of these and hopefully one that will help us!

Nalle, Michelah, Bladerunner919 & All,

Yesterday I changed out all my Front Lights with the exception of the Turn Signal Bulbs.. I put in new HID Bulbs in the Low Beams, which are 35 Watts with 6000K Diamond Bright light. and the High Beams to LED with 80 Watts and 6500K....The low Beams are somewhat brighter than the Philips Bulbs that I had and the Bright's are much better than the one's I had in that they are shorter than the one's I had and don't scatter the Light off of the Reflector as bad and keep the Light in a better pattern than the older one's...

I also put T-10 LEDs in the Parking Light socket and guess what? You're right! It glows for sometime after turning off the Lights! What's funny is that the left one glows brighter than the Right side. It is strange....

I went to Amazon and found that they have all these LED's and HID's at much lower prices than the other Vendors...I got all these replacement Bulbs for less than I paid for 1 box of Philips HIDs...

Billy,
I am glad someone else also have the "glowing" front parking lights. Really never figured out what caused it. My new resistors for the rear lights should arrive today or tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

Just buy a variable resistor and wire that in - it'll allow you to experiment without constantly having to solder in new resistors! Make sure you remove all the ones you already have, though.
