Stupid people and my XKR

In 06 I bought a G35 as a third car to zip around in.
What I didn't know is that all young boys with modded civics and scions would continually challenge me to race. I'm no kid but maybe the lowered suspension and wide wheels influenced some of the challenges.
At first I ignored them.
Then one day, on the turnpike, I took on the challenge of 2 guys in modded Acura somethings...the little car. Their cars were making a lot of noise with loud exhaust and i didn't know if they were turbo'd...but i did know i have 35+ years of experience driving.
I royally spanked those kids and left them with saddened little faces.
On the way home i thought about what had happened. I only wanted a nice Sunday morning drive on the highway and i let these kids ruin it. Something bad could have happened and i won't ever do it again.
But i did have this big smile while i was reflecting that i couldn't wipe away.

I did not think the G35 was all that powerful/fast. I believe it had about 280hp (not too shabby) but was a pretty hefty car. Generally the rice guys who mod up their Civics/Acuras/Scions do so in a pretty aggressive way such that those light tin-boxes blow away most of the competition in red-light races.

My right foot and butt tell me this is a reasonable idea. It felt faster to me. The number of people who challenged me and were surprised would agree. My skill as a driver had much to do with the outcomes as well.
Some of these guys who turbo their rice rockets don't get the motors properly tuned. Some don't spend enough to beef up the tranny and differential to transfer all that power to the wheels. So their car isn't as fast as they think....but they love the sound and become satisfied.
I never did any red light races. My challenges were all when moving. I refused to get into a real race. I've seen too many accidents to do that.
