Supercharger/intercooler removal Questions
#21
I have purchased an intercooler radiator that is smaller than the one I have as
original and I will add it in series. Coolant will flow through one then the other......I hope! This is an experiment.
Right now I plan on getting rid of any "lip" on the TB housing due to mismatch and I will do that myself.
Later I plan on a Mina exhaust. I originally liked the fact the stock XJR was so quite but I have changed my mind now.

I have given PSE the go ahead for rebuilding the SC I bought on Ebay.
I was a bit apprehensive about whether or not it was a viable candidate for rebuild but it is.
Apparently the ablative material coating on the M112 Gen V rotors prior to 2006 is not "the best". From 2006 to 2009 its a lot better along with better gearing.
So I will be getting "upgraded" to rotors from a 2009 model.
See pic of rotors on the one I bought. The black pieces on the left are what I shook out of the SC.
It will be interesting to see what the rotors look like when I take my existing SC off in a couple of weeks after my trip to the UK.

I had my rotors recoated because of just that. Figured id rebuild the entire thing. Almost done with the swap on mt xkr..I got anti-seize all over the place....It was apparently on my arm and well....My advice when doing this job. Make sure you remember exactly how all vacuum and misc hoses are routed at and around the inlet/EGR Im currently ready to strangle someone

This all started when I decided to do preventive maintenance on the valley hose. I figured that I might as well get the SC rebuilt while I am at it.
Just read thru your 2004 XJR performance thread. Very interesting.
I dont plan on doing drag runs with this car I just want to get the max out of this M112 Gen V SC.
I also bought a boat in the Fall which needs some work so my wife is "watching" what I am spending money on!
One thing in my favor is the fact that she has had many more speeding tickets than I have thanks to the Washington DC speed cameras.
We are also moving to Cape Cod so that complicates things. Up there I will not have a garage for at least a year where here in MD I do.
Oh I forgot I am going to the UK for 10 days tomorrow so another time complication which was not planned.
