Problem has been solved. I wish I took pictures. On the knock off K&N filter kit, the mass air sensor was siliconed on. During the time I had moved it around to clean the filter, it broke the seal and was leaking air. I went a head and bought an o-ring, and installed the factory air box. She runs so much better, smoother and seems like a lot more umph than before.
Another air leak was where the mas air flow tube connected to the air runner. They had used window ac foam to fill the gap between, really lame.... so far that's the only janky work I have found. This weekend the frontend will get rebuilt.

I finished working on my car, My car is running very well, I didn't even know how to explain how much better she is running with the OEM air box installed. The aftermarket air filter went into the trash. No need to keep that POS. My fuel trims are almost at zero +or-. 02 sensors are reading +-.5 the idle is silky smooth, instant power (I thought the little lag was the supercharger like a turbo lags) The exhaust note sounds so much nicer.
moral of the story no cheap aftermarket air filter kits.
What the issue wound up to be was a combination of a couple of vacuum leaks on the hose on the top passenger side of the motor that ran to under the TB. Along with a mas air sensor that was siliconed in position on a crappy made in china Air intake kit. The air intake kit tube also was the wrong size diameter to fit into the "air runner?" going to the TB. They had used some window seal foam tape to fill the gap.
The whole thing started by me doing the air-filter maintenance that it desperately needed.
Now on to the front end rebuild this weekend.

BlooDSMeaR, (still trying to figure-out where you got that name, did you cut your finger?) Each time I see one of your "Threads" I can see that you are learning quickly about our XKR's! I'm proud of your progress with the Car....You continually talk about the Color being sort of weird Black...The only Blacks the 2003 XKR came in were Ebony (PEC) and Midnight Pearl (PEF). Look on the Sticker on the Driver's Door Jam and you will see a plate with all sorts of things on it....At the bottom you will see the Color Code either PEC or PEF. As I recall the Photo with your Dad driving, the Car didn't look Ebony as there is a little tint to it....That leaves Midnight Pearl!
Send us some more Photos now that you have cleaned it up and shined on it a bit! We all love to look at Jag's no matter what color they are! Well almost any color!
Good luck to you! Billy Clyde in Houston

BlooDSMear,
Our VIN's are almost the same except where your's is B64 mine is B65 and mine ends in 678 but that's expected as mine was built in Feb. 2004. My 2005 was 519 XKR's after yours...I'm still wondering how it could be built in February of 2004 and still be a 2005.....but mine has a completely different Front-nose piece and my grill is a little larger and one piece. Yours is the same as the 2003 I had that got totaled. Also, mine has side-skirts along the bottom of the doors....I also noticed yours doesn't have those metal strips down the side as the 2003 did......All you would have to do is find a wrecked 05 or 06 and get it's front nose piece and grill and the side-skirts....and you would have an 05 - 06 XKR....that is the only difference in our cars!
The Mark VIII brings back memory's as I had a Copper Colored one that I traded in on my first XK8 Coupe...The Mark was a wonderful car, I remember that when you passed 60 or 70 it would lower itself 1 inch.
Personally I like the color of your car as it is a little different.....Midnight Pearl!!! Not bad at all!
