Sway bar bushing/sway bar end link job?

Interesting and I guess its an earlier model thing. My sway bar has a raised portion on the LH side, which sits in the bush internal groove to provide the left/right alignment.

In any case, I would have thought the earlier models would just find their natural position as the bar moves?
