US & Canada 315 mhz Fob.pdf
Don't know why this UK supplier would stock 315 mhz fobs which don't work in Europe.

switchblade style alarm/key fob
Thanks, but that is not the type I was looking for. GGG, that is like my 08 model that plugs into the center console. I am looking for one that the door key folds inside of the remote like a pocket knife. I saw them for other models and was wondering if that type could be programed to work with my 2001 XK8.

They do not work without modification. If you want to do the mod, it is documented here: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&p...thkey=CPWimOoE

The article assumes using a new Tibbe blank which then has to be cut by a locksmith and programmed to the vehicle by the Jaguar dealer. Many of us have discovered this is a very expensive process.
Fob programming is a DIY procedure and it looks as if an existing matched key could be converted by using its transponder chip and already cut blade?
If so, this makes a donor S-Type / X-Type four button flip key fob the only cost overhead on this conversion.

You should be able to buy the key blanks on ebay LIKE THIS ONE for hardly any $, what you will need to get done is the transponder sorted.....
Just as a trick I do know some people have cut the key grip off and taped it near the "exciter" and not bothered getting the keys programmed, you can do the fobs yourself using the usual technique

But after the transmission flush this will be my next project, and I'll definitely post up pics and an update. WhiteXKR, that link for the jag magazine article will help alot, thanks! Sounds like it could be a pretty straightforward physical swap, I'm hoping I can fit the longer transponder from my spare key in place of the shorter transponder in the X type FOB with a little dremel persuasion, thus no programming would be needed.
