Hello again I am having a problem with my tail lights not coming on on my 2000 XK8. The fuses and relay are all ok and am getting power to relay pin 1 and 3. I opened the lamp module and found resistor R8 to be burnt. My question is should i chang the module or the resistor and if the resistor what type is it. I took some pics of the board but cannot seem to get them attached to this tread. BTW i still have the dash light still staying on after i switch everything off so if anyone has an idea about what is causing that i would appriciate it thanks.

The resistors are used to sense bulb failure. You can try to replace the resistor (if you have soldering skills) or the module, but it is possible there is a short in the circuit that caused the resistor failure. You should check for a short on the corresponding wires to the lamp socket that connect to R8 outside the module.
If you want to replace the resistor post a picture (see Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum - FAQ: Reading and Posting Messages) or at least post the numbers and letters or colors and we can help you identify the value.
