Take your pick, sensor vs. rework abs unit

Take your pick, sensor vs. rework abs unit
Well the abs/trac light and the abs symbol light up pretty much every day now. They do go off when I get in in the morning but usually start back up when I drive home. Sometimes only the abs symbol just lights up then goes off, etc.
The computer at my jag mechanic said it was the driver side rear sensor a while back. I cleaned all four sensors and no lights for a few weeks but back again.
This needs to be resolved so I'm contemplating one of two actions:
1. buy a wheel speed sensor off ebay and replace it.
2. take out the abs module and either one of two: A. Send out for rebuilding. it was rebuilt previously, before I owned the car, by AutoECU but not sure about the warranty.
B. Open it up myself and check the solders.
My mechanic wanted to switch the sensor with another one and if the codes/lights came back on we would know if it was the sensor or the abs module. Personally I think it's a wiring thing. If it was a sensor why would it go on and off here and there. If it was the abs module wouldn't it stay on consistently? But I need to try something. This was inspected by a different jag tech and his computer said there were no faults(the light had gone off a few days previously).
-I filled the brake fluid
-my air intake hose has rtv on it so no huge air leaks
-I tested the battery a while back and it checked out. Took it to have it checked and they said it was ok.

I have the same problem, only left front. I swapped both sensors and cables with no change. I have also monitored resistance at the abs connector while rotating the wheels by hand and steering left and right, also flexing the cable. I think swapping the cables and sensors would be a good test before you start buying new parts.
I sent my module to Luxury Automotive in Kentucky, found via ebay, and expect it back in a few days. The abs pump contacts were re-soldered last year. Since your unit does not cause a pump circuit code, you will not find much info of use in repairing it on the forums.

I learned that sometimes just cleaning the wheel speed sensors by scrubbing them with a toothbrush and dish soap is not enough. Take a good look at all four small holes in each of your sensors - several of ours were clogged with sticky debris even after the toothbrush routine. I bent out a paper clip and used the end to ream out each clogged hole, then re-scrubbed them one more time with the toothbrush. Nearly a month after doing so, my wife reports that she has not seen a single warning light. From now on, whenever I clean the wheel speed sensors I'll ream each hole with a paper clip as part of the process....

Having cleaned all of my sensors, replaced 3 looms, checked the resistance levels, checked the sensors and looms on another car and doing a 'hard reset' with differing fault codes (none of which were the pump). I still get a mixture of ABS not switching off/taking too long, TC/SC failure, them both together...or nothing at all. Am going to opt or the ECU being at fault in your case
