RaggTopp makes a cleaner for the canvas. Be careful of using a carwash product that adds a 'shine' to the paint. It is reported to not be good for the top. I hose mine off with some pressure but do not clean it often. RT also makes a product for waterproofing the top. It is probably the one most recommended. Actually it is only naptha and wax but it does do a good job. Makes the top look like new and beads the water. You need to mask the entire car with a thin plastic drop cloth to keep the wax off the windows and paint. Any over spray is a mess to clean up as it requires a petroleum cleaning product to get it all off which means you get to wax the paint again.

Well fellas I hate to disappoint you but when I wash my car I wash the roof and I use dish washing Dawn. As for the roof I treated it with RaggTop http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairRoofCond.htm and it did a great job.

303 covertible top cleaner and ultimate fabric protector is what is and always has been recommended by the manufacturer of the "canvas" used for the top...

I've used Raggtopp cleaner, but haven't had a dry day to use the protecter. As soon as the stuff arrived it has been almost nonstop rain. I wish I could have protected it befit this, it would be a great test.

Ragg-Top, Recommended By Hartz, The manufacturer of the orginal Top for the Ford years. Works Great.

From what I understand Raggtopp paid for their endorsement by Hartz. 303 has always been endorsed by Hartz and is MUCH easier to apply as it is not an aerosol.

Just a little tip (in case you guys haven't thought of this):

I just re-proofed my top last night using Raggtopp and I put plain kitchen plastic wrap over the glass and paint. It sticks on contact, is fast, easy to manipulate and use, doesn't hurt the paint and removing the wrap takes seconds.

I sprayed PAM on the front bumper when I drove up north last year. I didn't want the bugs to stick...and they didn't!

You are kidding Right?
We got the oil from the top, we got the pam for the hood and we got the plastic wrap. What are we making and when is the party? I’ll bring the beer!

I recently used the 303 cleaner and sealer. It worked well, and the non-aerosal was easy to use after I covered the surrounding area. The top looks like new.

Great tip! I used Scotch blue tape and newspapers last time and that took more time than treating it. Also, Scotch fabric protector has been used successfully.
