Time to replace the engine

Time to replace the engine
The oil leak that developed is oil that is blowing past the piston rings. The compression in the 2 passenger side rearward cylinders is 18%. The others are around 8.
The car is still quite drivable, but has a slow excretion of oil when used. I have time to decide what to do, plus I have another vehicle to drive that is reliable.
So... I'm considering purchasing a used engine to replace mine which has 147,000 miles on it. After doing that, and installing the twin screw supercharger kit from AVos at the same time, I'll begin the process of having a brand new custom engine built and balanced over the following year.
Does anyone happen to have a 4.0 engine available for MY 2000 XKR? Also interested in input/ideas.
Many thanks!

The car still runs pretty well, but I have to put up with the smell of oil while driving. I'll be cutting back on driving the Jag while I prepare to get the other engine and have the supercharger installed.
AVos has suggested going with a 4.2 and I've found a couple of them with low miles for sale. Now, I'm just waiting for another sale to come into my business so that I can justify the expediture. =) I'll get there.

4.2
I've decided to go with a 4.2 as AVos has suggested. A gracious friend of his, not a member of this forum, had offered to help me with use of an engine, but it is a 4.0 and I'd have to ship it to the US from the Netherlands.
The 4.2's injectors flow at a higher rate and will help to generate more horsepower.
The car is still running fine, but with a slight oil smell after it gets warmed up (oil leaking into the air filter intake box due to blow-by).
I will use the RESTORE product to see if that helps.

So far, no oily smell while driving
I added a can of RESTORE to the engine oil this morning, then went for a drive. Within minutes, the oily smell that occurs after the engine warms up WENT AWAY. I wonder if it really has temporarily sealed the piston rings against the cylinder walls better. Hmmm. So far, it was worth using it just for the elimination of the oil odor. =)

There seems to be a bit more power in the engine. I usually drive with the traction control turned off. I pulled into a major street today with oncoming traffic. The car was almost at a straight approach, similar to entering the highway from a ramp entrance. I had to lift off of the throttle because I realized that my right rear tire was spinning and smoking. I'm sure that it looked like I was showing off to others, but I didn't know that would happen. The elimination of the oil odor continues.

Hopefully you'll keep this thread updated with the results as a sort of real life experience review of the product.

I , like others probably , thought it was "Snake Oil " , how wrong can you be
How many miles have you covered after installing the RESTORE Jeff ??? and have you had/done a blow-by test since ???

No official tests
No official tests have been done after the use of RESTORE. There is occasional blow-by oily smoke that comes out of the intake, which could be killed with the use of an oil separator. It is greatly reduced now, though. The power is still UP. There is no knocking sound whatsoever (it had been REALLY annoying). The motor runs STRONG. I have driven approximately 2000 miles since I began using the blue goo (make sure to shake the hell out of the can prior to opening and use). The deposit of oil drops on the pavement in my parking space have greatly decreased. I'm going to re-seal the driveway after I put the 4.2 engine in! =)
I used one can, initially, liked the improvement, then added a second can, at which point the piston slapping disappeared. I added a third can a few weeks later but things have remained the same (there was some minimal oil loss so I replaced it with RESTORE instead of oil). It's not like I'm going to ruin my already worn out engine.
I drive this car everyday as my daily driver going approximately 20-40 miles per day. I drive aggressively, using the vehicle's power and handling whenever other vehicles are not around. I LIKE to drive. Would I recommend driving across the country with this engine? No. Is it possible that it would make the trip reliably? Yes!
