Default Tire Recommendations and TPMS

I just bought a 1999 XK8 coupe and will need to replace tires soon. I searched the owners' manual online and this forum and cannot determine whether the 1999 XK8 was originally equipped with tire pressure monitors. Were they? If so, can they usually be re-used and are they position specific?
Also, any recommendations for replacement tires? I found a set of Dunlop SP Sport 5000 in the original size at Tire Rack for around $600+ after shipping and mounting fees are added-in:

Any recommendations for/against the Dunlops?
Thanks,
Jim

None of the x100 series had TPMS from the factory even through the 2006 MY.

Not much experience with Dunlops but I'm sure there are other members that can comment.

I put a set of Dunlop SP Sport Signature tires on my 2005 S-Type in January 2011 after doing several months of tire research during 2010. They've been very good tires thus far with not quite 30,000 miles on them. No hydroplaning whatsoever, comfortable ride, and still quiet at all speeds. Not sure how they compare to the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires, though....

We've been very happy with the set of Yokohama YK580 tires I put on my wife's 2006 XK8 in April 2012 (rear) and October 2012 (front). Great wet traction, great ride, low noise, a great treadwear warranty, and priced very fairly. I still think they're the best bang-for-the-buck all-season tire on the market. Available only at Discount Tire and America's Tire....

+1 on the Yokohama tires. I have them on my '01 and the wife's car as well. I certainly recommend them.
