Top Boot cover necessary?
I notice my 2001 XK8 top flutters a lot in the wind when down. This seems like it would put a lot of strain/stress on the top's interior lining, especially at highway speeds. I bought the vehicle used so I don't know if it normally comes with some kind of boot cover (I think that is what they are called). Other convertibles I have owned have stored the top within a hard plastic lid when down, so I just want to check whether it is necessary to buy a cover to protect the top when driving. Thanks.

RE: Top Boot cover necessary?
The cover isn't really necessary, however, it will keep the top from flopping in the breeze, keep the headliner from getting filthy, and make the car look much nicer when the top is down and covered. I wouldn't go without one.
Your MY came with a soft vinal cover and there are some for sale on ebay.
A hard cover will take up all the trunk space when not in use.
