Touchup paint

Having used my XK8 as a daily drive for ten years it has a few dings (only some of them due to my use). I want to fill in the dings and respray the affected areas.
I have a decent compressor that can drive a HPLV or a traditional gun (I could even shoot 2-pack as I have a respirator). What is the best touchup paint? I do not want to respray the whole car, just blend in the affected areas.
In most cases the damage is limited to the clear coat (stone chips round the headlights). But there are a few dings that have gone through to the gel layer.
Given that I am not going to stick the car in a furnace afterward, this is not going to be the original formula paint. Anyone know of a good match?

I had a small shop fix my dings and nicks it wasn't worth the headache. Check you phone book or ask your jag dealer who they use to touch up their cars on the lot. Around hear there are several business with small vans I see at car lots and all they do is touch up cars, with nicks and stone scars. I painted a truck once learned alot never want to do it again. That was before base coats, tinted base coats, multistage paints, EPA, nosey neighbors who no longer wanted to get high on paint fumes.............
