There isn't one on his website but I don't believe it has been updated for years. Send him an email he might have already made one. If not he was looking for cars to make a prototype a couple years ago. You are only about 250 miles miles from him. Heck I've been known to drive that far for good Mexican food.

Rock auto just delivered the transmission filter today, I have the fluids, the tools and the time this weekend. Just waiting on the dipstick.

I have discovered I'm not a patient man.

Thinking of the kit for my XK8 only due to fact I'd like to change fluid more often. Otherwise, reading too critical for an accurate reading. ( my opinion). I recently changed the fluid. I know the level is spot on. I can drain, measure and reinstall exact amount with the dip stick upfit. Starting to have problems 1st to 2nd shift when hot on my 99 XK8 ZF 5hp24 trans @ 55k. Had a service tech replace fluid and filter. Worked well for a month. I suspected new fluid ( which the tech said was nasty, no filings) was now diluted with old fluid remaining in converter, etc. I purchased the upgraded pressure valve from trans go for the valve body, replaced filter and fluid again per factory specs to a tee. Proper pump, laser temp tool from Harbor Freight. Much to my surprise, fluid was low 3/4 qt trans fluid. I have around 500 miles thus far and happy to say the trans acts like a new transmission again. Remember. I stated a tech changed fluid already. So, filler plug as well as pan bolts had been removed. Be careful to insure quality sockets to remove bolts and loosen before you drain. Rich

I agree with you 100% Rich, the dip stick is useful to check the level after the box has been refilled according to the proper procedure.

Got mine yesterday, looks good, well made, might be a bit involved to install. May try tomorrow.

I need some trans fluid but don't know what to use. Mercon?? Instructions say to measure what drains out and refill like amount with new fluid.

Default Auto transmission oil.

I know some may scream at this but I have been using Wolfshead Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid in my XK8 and have had zero problems. The guy that makes the dip sticks has a good discussion of this on his site, so I tried it and for me it has worked well. The biggest plus is that a case of it costs about $47.00.

My 99 XK8 has been shifting funny occasionally. I stop briefly and when I step on the gas, the engine revs up a bit before 1st gear engages making for a neck-snapping start.

Today it did this shifting into reverse and again when I went to drive. I suspect low tranny fluid, but it seems there's no way to check this. Any one have a similar issue?

Firstly, please do not drive the car again until it's been sorted.
I had similar things happening in my gearbox before it stuck in top gear.
There was a fault on mine caused by a valve in the valve body, this caused a pressure spike which broke a valve body casting and the A drum. All this would have been avoidable if I'd dropped off the gearbox sump and fitted an uprated valve body piston and spring when the faults first appeared.
