Transmission oil leak

Transmission oil leak
Lately it seems I have been posting too many questions on car issues but hopefully this is the last one. Have a 2001 XKR with 33K miles. A few weeks ago spotted some oil on the garage floor. Looked like engine oil but after taking it to dealer for them to diagnosis, it seems the oil is leaking from an electrical connector to the side and right above the tranny pan. Of course they quoted me $760 to replace connector and filter with new oil.
Leak is very small and probably doesn't need correction immediately. Is this a DIY type of fix?? The dealer want on about how complex it is to replace the oil, that the proper temperature must be maintained and so on.
What about a non jaguar reparir centerI have a local guy that I use for my other carsthis repair does not seem too complex.
Advice please

RE: Transmission oil leak
Gary,
I just changed my oil in my trans in my xkr. The transmission in your xkr is the same as mine. Please read a earlier post of mine. regarding trany fluid change. https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_84410/tm.htm Its not all that magical... a little time consuming but doable. "with the right tools"
P.S i have read about this on the Mercedes forums. This is a known issue with the 722.6 transmissions. Its a cheep fix according to them. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...sion-leak.html
Considering on the Mercedes they are saying when that happens, it can lead to a fried autotrans control module. i would get it done quick.
