trickle charger
My battery is dead again after 5 months sitting in the garage and Phoenix heat. I am going to have to start using a trickle charger for these summer vacations.
Is there a better way to plug it in rather than just leave the trunk open. Is there a way to route the power cord out the bottom of the car so I can close the trunk?
Recommendations on trickle charger?

The battery tender cord is very narrow and you can shut the trunk lid without worrying about pinching it at all. The trunk seal is very thick and can accommodate the tender cord easily. In fact you can still push and pull the cord easily with the lid closed. I was skeptical about routing the cable that way initially, but the wise sages here in the forum advised me not to worry. Nearly 5 years later, no issues.

PS I’ve used the Delran Battery Tender + for many years. It works perfectly and has a durable metal case. Which is important if you run over it as I’ve done 2 or 3 times.
But recently Amazon had a special on the NOCO tenders and I decided to retire the Delran unit to back-up status. My new NOCO Genius 5 is working perfectly.
Many here also used the CTEK brand.
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these 3 choices.

I connected the pigtail for the battery tender under the hood. The power cable on the drivers side is a straight shot to the battery and there is an existing ground just below it on the inside of the mount. The pigtail stows awal between the fuse block and shock tower neatly and the cord can be run out to the edge of the hood without pinching.

that looks like a better idea. Thanks

Noco Genius 1
I use a Noco Genius 1 and just shut the trunk on the cable. Has worked fine.

battery tender
I installed a ctek unit, and found that there is a recessed area in the right hand side trunk panel that it fit just right.....it takes up no room in the trunk and I just run the cord out of the trunk and shut it with no problems.....that way I can lock the car in the garage to give it a full shut down and protection from intruders...if it ever happens. You do have to remember to unplug the cord and stuff it in the trunk each time, but I have found if I am going out for a drive somewhere, I usually have to put something in the trunk anyway. I'm sure you'll find just what your looking for and it will work fine...
