trying to remove fog lamp insert ...
My fog lights are a little milky inside the lens. I've found two clips at 3 and 9 o'clock that seem to release the whole back of the foglamp assembly. But I'm meeting a little resistance when I try to withdraw it, coming from the adjuster at 6 o'clock. Does it just pull out, or do I need to unscrew it, carefully counting the turns so I can reassemble it at the proper aiming adjustment.
The shop manual only shows bulb removal and unmounting the whole assembly, which still doesn't get me to the inside.

OK, after struggling with the two front pinch-bolts, I removed the right foglamp assembly (see photos below). As I guessed above, the tabs at 3 and 9 o'clock can be carefully spread to release the rear reflector/bulb holder assembly. The adjusting screw is backed out at the same time (after measuring it's insertion depth) and the assembly slides out with gentle wiggling. It is sealed with a gray double lip seal around the perimeter.
I found it surprisingly difficult to remove the haze. I though one shot of glass cleaner and it would wipe clean, but it took about four applications to clean it up. Before and after photos below.
Now for the left side. As I mentioned, the front pinch bolts are very difficult to access. It took about half an hour to work the lower one out because you can't see it and can only swing an 8mm wrench a partial turn at a time.
The windshield washer reservoir gets in the way on the left side. As I see it, I have three options.
1. Remove the reservoir and tackle the foglamp as I did the right side.
2. Or, remove the headlamp assembly which will make it much easier to access the pinch bolts.
3. Or, leave the lamp body/lens in place and remove the rear reflector/bulb holder by spreading the two tabs and backing out the adjuster screw after taking an insertion measurement (more difficult in the car).
Any thoughts about which option is the least amount of frustration? I would rather not disturb the washer reservoir connections and the shop manual is a bit light on instructions for removing the headlamp assembly.

Oh my, WAY easier to get access once the headlamp assembly was out. Thanks for the link. The only minor hitch was trying to figure out what magic part of the electrical connector to squeeze to release it (it's on the bottom).
I think I'll pull the right headlamp too for the re-installs. Tomorrow.
