Turn signal side repeater light

Turn signal side repeater light
I have just finished repairing - replacing the plastic springy retainer with an epoxied-in SS flat spring - one of the side repeaters.
It seems that there ought to be some sort of a gasket or seal around / under the lip of this fixture, as it seems a bit crude to have the plastic housing hard up against the paint. The lack of a seal would allow water to run down the fender, up against the module, and inside the fender. I checked the other side, and there is no gasket on that one either. Then I checked the parts manual, and no (separate) gasket is shown. Can anyone comment?

There is no gasket....Even the Leaper had no gasket.....I've not noticed any problems without a gasket.....but you could put some of that gasket stuff that's in a tube around it, if it would make you feel better!!! Only problem I've ever had with the Repeater is the Brushes in the Car Wash.....
