Unusal drop in power

Unusal drop in power
I have a 97 XK8 convertable with approx 131000 miles on it. I don't use it offen usually on the weekends. During the summer I took a trip down to Hilton Head. The car work perfectly all the way there, but on the way back I had a small power drop while driving along at approx 65-70 mph. The engine felt like it was going to die, then pick up a couple of times. As I pulled over the engine picked up again and ran great all the way home.
I have read about throttle body issues, but I don't know much about the problem except I should be able to get a recall done before the end of the year.
I know my nikasil cylinders are ok (good compression and no drop) my chain tensioners are good.
Does anybody have any ideas or come across a problem like this before?
Thanks,
Dave
