Default Update regarding the ABS/DCS Module Repair

Sent the Module to repair service ($100) ,

no charge, in Calif. first and after opening & examination, they advise Not repairable due to "Burned CPU". Researched additional places and chose a service ($350) in N.Y. State who advised they probably could repair it. They appeared confident so we proceeded. Got notice the Module had shipped, it checked OK, but had lost the programing probably due to power interruption.? Did not require opening the module. They re-programed it. Install was completed Aug. 12, NOTE: Module was removed and reinstalled with the battery disconnected. On start up, the DSC Fault & ABS light were on. We have driven minimum of 25 miles at varying speeds since install with message and light still on. Would the re programing of module be cause for our ECM not recognizing the repaired module? Earlier thread addressed the ABS speed sensor being OK and ABS sensor Wiring harness replacement. No Check Engine Light or Codes when scanned now , The Autel 805 reads codes the ELM 327 does not. We are seeking additional input to move forward. Considering a LKQ or used assembly
(requires IDS/WDS), Re-man module or mega-dollar new replacement ($1785).

Used or reman module. As you likely know, the principal risk is that the used model has the same issue, then you will likely need to pony up $100 to have it resoldered in CA, unless you can do it yourself. For example, this one may work out of the 'box' based on your model and the VIN of the donor car:

There are much cheaper ones available, but might need IDS/WDS.

Have you followed up with the outfit in New York regarding a partial refund? They may decline but you never know unless you ask....
