From the times when I was doing big mileages, I estimate 20-25K miles on OE upper bushes with the LH wearing out faster than the RH on RHD vehicles.

I did, are you telling me I'm in for some trouble next week when I change them out?

I got the complete kit from them and everything was okay. Hope your parts are too. Good luck. Judging from other's experiences, if those upper bushes fail again I'll order up some polyflex replacements.

Hah,Ive done several of these jobs.Get some kroil oil in your tool boxes guys

here is my advice, get some of that below, heat the unit up with a propane torch, spray away,do this 5 times a side, remove a hour later.

Penetrating-Lubricating Oils

Kroil creeps into millionth inch spaces, breaks bonds due to rust, corrosion, contamination, or compression and lubricates to loosen frozen metal parts.
No other penetrating oil does that, and ive been doing this stuff for years.

I keep reading nothing but excellent reports about Kano Kroil.

Unfortunately I can't find a European supplier and the shipping cost from US suppliers to the UK is around 200% the cost of the product. On top of this we would probably have to pay a Customs processing fee.

Anyone found a European source?

They have a free sample can, so that should help on price, your local machine shop is a local supplier.

Also, id like you to watch this video to see why the bolts and sleeves unite together.

Good morning guys, I am in the middle of this job! Its a real PITA. My bolts are stuck solid! I have had all sorts of penetrating oil in the bolts and washers for a few weeks now, and they are still stuck. The only thing I have not tried is heat. So I booked the car in to my local Indy but he advised me to soak the bolt in coke, he says he uses it regularly to free up rusted in injectors etc ( recommended by Merc dealership ).
I have ordered a recon N/S top arm with balljoint, and bushes/shims/balljoint for the O/S at about a third of the cost. I do not have an impact drill or any other assistance tool like the Rev does in his video. In fact all I have is an adjustable spanner which is flexing when I put the weight on it, I do not know what size the nut/bolt is as non of my sockets or ring/flat spanners go that large. Rev does not stipulate the size of the socket used in his video. he obviously has more tools than I have LOL's . Just out of curiosity could someone tell me what size the bolt is please? The good thing about this job is that I have been able to put some black waxoil paint on the front inner wing sections, and I was very pleased at the condition of the metal work when I was doing the job, very sound for 15 years old.
Any advice/comments greatly appreciated.
Arty

Don't spend any more time trying to get them out, use an angle grinder to cut them off, you can pick up a second hand one for $20.

The bolt was never going to come out of these sleves.
