(no-longer) Urgent question - Staggered tires
I just met a customer at the rim shop who was buying some obnoxious 22" rims for his 2001 xkr. He has 245x18 in the front and 255x18 in the rear.
I desperately need new tires so I offered him $850 for his chrome rims & tires (his tires are 65%)
I have a 2000 with 245x17 on all four tires.
Will I have a problem given his front & rear are different diameters?

After the threads 2nd post I remembered there is a chart inside the center console.
I went ahead and bought them. As soon as I'm done putting the thermostat house in I will mount em and see how they look outside in the sun. I put one on prior to paying for them and the chrome looks really nice with the red body.

www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp go to this site and it will tell you everything you want to know about your rim's and tire sizing.

That site is very helpful. I didn't know my current 245X17's are a full inch shorter than the oem 255X17's.
Just a thought about bigger rims and lower profile tires. One of my sons is a mechanic at a used car dealer. he has noted that cars with the "wagon wheels" have a much higher degree of deterioration and damage to the suspension components....especially the Jags, and especially the front suspension. He said it looks like the lack of a sidewall is beating the suspensions to death.

I'd like to apologize first. I tried editing the post so it doesn't say "Urgent" in the thread title. I don't want to cry wolf too many times... Can a mod change the thread title? It was urgent in the sense that I had a 2 hr window to make the deal.
Turns out the guy's car was not an XKR, he just had the supercharged badge on the front bumper (I should have known given there were no hood louvers)
As soon as I wake up more, and wash the car I will post pics in this post.
