Default Valet key

Hi Lads, after solving several issues using your valuable know-how, I go for more.

I already have my Bentley style key programmed for a total of $155 ($30 for the key, 125 for cutting and programming).

I go now for the Valet key. I use the valet parking service quite often, so the idea of locking the globe compartment and the trunk sounds desirable to me.

I read that the valet key it is basically the same key and chip than the other key. So If I'm not wrong, the only difference is the cut, right? The problem is that I don't have the original key, ergo, I don't count with the original shape. How can I get then the Valet key cut? Suggestions? Thanks!

Here's the black MASTER key next to the green VALET key for my 2005 XK8:

The blue sections are identical - the difference is in the red sections at the ends. The MASTER key has a reduced diameter which is why a VALET key can be converted into a MASTER key.

Your probem is going to be that the VALET key will still have to be programmed or it would fit and turn the ignition but not start the vehicle.

Have you tried ebay?

You will need to program all your keys at the same time when you do the valet key.

Plenty BLACK headed blank keys on ebay but I can't find any for GREEN headed blanks.

Forum Sponsor S N G Barratt lists them. I think the P/N is C2N1967.
